ECHS Track & Field State Bound

Elliott County Track & Field competed at the Region 7 A Championship held in Russell on May 13 with outstanding results.  Elliott claimed their 5th consecutive Region Championship in the Boys 4X800 Meter Relay ran by Brandon White, Haden Harper, Lucas Ison, and Gavin Fannin.  Lucas Ison achieved two additional first place wins earning him the title of Region Champion in the 1,600 Meter Run and 3,200 Meter Run.   In addition, Lucas set a new Region 7 A Championship performance time in the 1,600 Meter Run with a time of 4:48.  Region Runner-Ups include Gavin Fannin (800 Meter Run) and Gavin Adkins (High Jump).  Adkins’ 5-8 high jump ties with the school record set by alumni Aarron Elliott in 2013.  These athletes have advanced to the State Championship to be held on May 20.

Elliott Freshman Wins Big at Area 7 Championship

Elliott County freshman, Lucas Ison, claimed a coveted Area 7 Championship and made KTCCCA's 1st Team All Area on May 6, 2017 by winning 1st Place in the 1,600 Meter Run (equivalent to one mile) with a time of 4:44.  Lucas’s victory marks only the 3rd time in Elliott County track history that an athlete has won an Area 7 Championship after Alumni Aaron Steven's 2012 win (800 meter run) and alumni Shelby Brickey's 2010 win (high jump).

Gavin Adkins Signs With University of Pikeville

Elliott County Schools would like to congratulate senior Gavin Adkins. Gavin officially signed with University of Pikeville on May 4, 2017 to continue his career in Cross Country and Track & Field.  Gavin's family attended the signing along with his coach, Nancy Sloas, Superintendent Dr. Potter, and UPIKE's John Biery (head coach) and Jonathon Sloas (assistant coach/ECHS alumni).

The Choice is Yours

Friday, November 18, was a powerfully emotional, yet highly educational day, as Elliott County High School 7th and 8th graders participated in Truth and Consequences:  The Choice is Yours.  The program, developed by the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture/Extension Service provides the opportunity for students to role-play various scenarios related to illicit drug use.

Kentucky Derby Educator Comes to PAC

Heather Hill, outreach educator with the Kentucky Derby Museum, recently visited Elliott County.  7th and 8th grade students enjoyed the interactive, standards-based lessons immensely.  The program is designed to teach students about the history of the Kentucky Derby while also integrating lessons in economics, math, and science.

Ecosystems With Intermediate Students

Students in grades 4,5, and 6 were required to complete a project on ecosystems.  Each homeroom was assigned a different ecosystem and students were required to submit a writing piece, a powerpoint presentation, and a model of their organism.  Please see Sandy Hook Elementary's photo gallery for photos of the students' amazing work!

Sandy Hook Elementary Parent/Teacher Conferences

Sandy Hook Elementary will be having parent/teacher conferences on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 4:00-6:00P.M. Conferences will not begin until 4:00P.M. due to academic team practice and teacher obligations.

Veteran's Day Program at S.H.E.

Sixth grade students at Sandy Hook Elementary honored veterans by hosting a cake and coffee event to show their appreciation for those who served in our military.

Isonville Elementary was classified as a Distinguished School based on the 2015-2016 K-PREP accountability.  We are very pleased and excited that our students have achieved this level of success.

We would like to thank all of our stakeholders who support our students in their academic endeavors.  We appreciate all the parent and community involvement that has contributed to our success. 

Cross Country Home Meet on Thursday; October 20th

Elliott Cross Country will host their last home meet of the season on Thursday, October 20th, at Lakeside Elementary with races beginning at 5:00p.m.  We hope that you will join us in cheering on our K-12 Cross Country athletes and in recognizing our Cross Country seniors; Gavin Adkins, Sydney DeHart, Meldrick Garris, Haden Harper and Brandon White in addition to Team Manager Barry Branham.

Annual Wellness Policy Assessment and Update

The Annual Wellness Policy Assessment and Update Meeting is scheduled for August 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the School Board Office.  All Committee Members, Staff and Community Members are invited to participate.

ECHS FFA Attends State Conference

Elliott County High School Youth Basketball Camp

Elliott County Youth Basketball Camp Boys and Girls ages 4-13

July 12-14 from 4:30-7:00 in New Gym

Cost is 45$ per camper for all 3 days or 20$ per day

Registration will take place July 12 from 3:30-4:30

Campers will receive instruction from ECHS staff and Players.  Campers will be instructed on individual and team defensive principals, as well as shooting, dribbling, passing and team offense.  All campers will receive free lunch/snack during each day of camp.
