Elliott County Schools Prepares for a Successful 2026–2027 School Year
As we prepare to welcome students and staff for the 2026–2027 school year, Elliott County Schools is excited to share several important updates and opportunities that will support our students, families, and schools throughout the year.
Substitute Teacher Training
Elliott County Schools will host Substitute Teacher Training on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Elliott County Board of Education.
Substitute teachers play an important role in keeping our classrooms running smoothly and supporting students and staff throughout the school year. We appreciate those who are willing to step in and make a difference in our schools.
Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program
Elliott County Schools is pleased to announce that the district has been awarded a Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) grant for the 2026–2027 school year.
Through this program, students in grades K–5 will receive a fresh fruit or vegetable snack three days each week—Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The program provides students with opportunities to try a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables while encouraging healthy choices and lifelong nutritional habits.
Breakfast & Lunch at No Cost to Students
Elliott County Schools will also participate in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program during the 2026–2027 school year.
Through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), students at Elliott County Primary School, Elliott County Intermediate School, Elliott County Middle School, and Elliott County High School will be able to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost each school day.
Providing nutritious meals helps ensure our students have the fuel they need to learn, grow, and succeed each day.
As the new school year approaches, Elliott County Schools looks forward to another great year of supporting our students and families and providing opportunities that help every student succeed.
