Dear Elliott County Schools Community,

Our school district has been informed of two confirmed COVID-19 cases within its student body.  Due to the large number of potential exposures, and out of an abundance of caution, we will be following the recommendations of the Gateway Health Department:  There will be no in-person instruction between tomorrow, April 20, 2021 and Monday, April 26, 2021.  Virtual learning will take place during this week.  In-person instruction will resume on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.  Support staff will be working each day to ensure that all classrooms, cafeterias, bathrooms, and buses are thoroughly sanitized while students are working virtually.

The Elliott County Schools Food Service Program will be offering a one-day/per student meal pickup tomorrow, Tuesday, April 20th.  The regular meal service for virtual students will resume on Wednesday, April 21st.

We apologize for any hardship or inconvenience this might cause, but our students’ safety is our number 1 priority.  We encourage you to keep a close eye on your child and if any symptoms develop it is important to get your child tested to protect them and those around them.  Thank you for your understanding as we continue to navigate this pandemic.

Respectfully,

Debbie Stephens, Superintendent

Elliott County Schools
