All of our school staff have been working this summer to make sure that we are ready to welcome students back from summer break on Wednesday, August 17.  Many students participated in all four weeks of summer academy, and most incoming kindergarteners will have completed our first-ever Kindergarten Camp on August 10.

The Elliott County School District will align its COVID-19 management protocol with Kentucky Department for Public Health guidance, which is coordinated with Center for Disease Control recommendations. This protocol is based on a three-tier level of factors with ratings of low, medium and high.  These levels are determined by new cases within the county, percent of hospital capacity related to COVID-19, and number of new patients with COVID-19 admitted to the hospital in the prior week.  Follow this link for more details:

Much of Kentucky, including Elliott County, is currently in the high category.  Current recommendations include up-to-date vaccinations, wearing masks in indoor public settings, staying home when sick, and following isolation and quarantine guidance.  We encourage our families to follow these recommendations, as we strive to maintain a safe learning environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Online registration for both returning and new students is available at your convenience, or you may complete the process during your child’s open house.

The Elliott County Board of Education is committed to providing a high-quality education that meets the needs of each student.  We believe that the best setting for quality instruction is through in-person instruction, but recognize that there may occasionally be unique needs for individuals that necessitate virtual instruction.  The ECBOE provides virtual learning under specific circumstances, with stringent guidelines that must be followed for participation.  An application for admission to the virtual academy is available at each school and at the Board of Education Office.

There have been changes to some district and/or schools’ attendance, cell phone, and dress code policies.  These policies are included within each school’s student handbook and the district’s Code of Conduct, which are sent home with each student during the first few days of school.  Please familiarize yourself with these changes, and if you have any questions, contact your child’s school or the Board of Education office.
