Congratulations to Elliott 7th and 8th girls for their win over Fairview Middle last night. The girls will travel to East Carter tonight, September 12. 8th grade night is scheduled for September 30th. 8th grade ceremony will be held after the 7th grade game.

Junior and Senior Drama class enjoyed the first week back at ECHS!

We will be conducting our school bus evacuation drills today after school. Buses will arrive home a little later than usual.

Kinley Lewis and Natalie Barker attended the ACTION program this summer at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center. This was a 5 week program based on oncology research and patient care. This is the first year that high school students have eligible to participate.

First cross country practice will be Monday, 7PM at Lakeside. You must have a physical.

Middle school students learning some basic essential life skills of how to hand sew In Mrs. Tussey’s class Family and Consumer science class.

Mr. Gary Selby and Billy Branham gave a presentation today at the WSAZ Home and Garden Show about Shiitake mushrooms. Mr. Selby wrote a grant for this project and the ECHS FFA students have enjoyed learning and growing Shiitake mushrooms this year.

Students- Elliott County Schools will be closed for the rest of this week due to widespread illness. Custodians will use this time to thoroughly clean/disinfect each building. These three days will be NTI days, so please encourage your children to complete NTI assignments numbers one, two, and three.

Staff- School will not be in session for the remainder of this week; however, test administration training will be conducted tomorrow, Wednesday, February 27 at 9:00 in the Performing Arts Center. If you will be involved in testing in any way, please make every effort to attend this training. These will be NTI days.
