We now offer a phlebotomy pathway in our Career and Technical Education program. Phlebotomy , which is the practice of collecting blood samples. This program trains students to become Certified Phlebotomy Technicians (CPTs), preparing them for a growing healthcare career through hands-on instruction in venipuncture and specimen handling, leading to national certification exams and roles in hospitals, labs, and clinics. Today Mrs. Holbrook volunteered and both students performed great!

A huge thank you goes out to Heather York, Sgt Durke and The Army National Guard for our new glass covering at the back of our high school entrance. They designed these and installed free of charge. Thank you, for helping to make our school safer. They look amazing!!

Elliott County High School JROTC Earns 'Honor Unit with Distinction'
The Elliott County High School JROTC program has achieved the prestigious "Honor Unit with Distinction" award, a designation that represents the highest level of performance for a JROTC unit. This recognition is awarded by the U.S. Army Cadet Command to units that display outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, drill and ceremony, and community service.
Achieving this honor requires a rigorous Program Accreditation score of 95% or higher, a testament to the cadets' discipline and commitment to excellence. As a result of this accomplishment, cadets are authorized to wear the Gold Star of Excellence on their uniforms. The achievement also grants the unit the privilege of nominating qualified cadets directly to U.S. service academies.

Ensuring the safety of our students is the top priority for our school district. Each year, we invite a team of first responders to conduct a thorough tour of both the interior and exterior of every school building. This practice allows them to provide valuable suggestions for enhancing school safety and familiarizes them with the layout of our schools. This year, we would like to extend our gratitude to the following individuals for their participation: Deputy Casey Brammell (Sheriff’s Office), Trooper Zach Haney (Kentucky State Police), Allen and Nancy Kuehner (504 Fire Department), Dale Howard (Sandy Hook Fire Department), Michael Wagner (School District Safety Coordinator), Jim Skaggs (Emergency Management), Caleb Skaggs (Dispatch), and Darren Newell (EMS and Isonville Fire Department).
