Calling on all former EC Lions and Lady Lions for our 3rd annual alumni basketball game!

On Saturday, 11/07, the ECHS and ECMS boys' basketball programs are hosting an alumni game to raise money for the upcoming season. If you are a former EC basketball player and want to participate, please contact Abby Adkins (Lady Lions), or Larry Porter / Korbin Spencer (Lions).

This game is a great way to help us provide essential gear and cover tournament travel expenses for our players. The Lady Lions will tip off at 6:00 PM, followed directly by the Lions game at roughly 7:00 PM. We will also host a split-the-pot drawing at halftime of the Lions game, with 100% of the proceeds going straight to our basketball programs. Concessions available! Tickets for fan entry will be $5- children 12 and under are free.

Elliott County is a strong basketball community, and your support is what makes it all possible. We hope to see plenty of former players, family, and fans for a fantastic evening of fun!

Learning important lessons through real-world experiences! 🚗💡

Our middle and high school students recently participated in UNITE’s Drug Prevention on the Move program. Through this hands-on experience, students explored how impaired driving can impact coordination, reaction time, judgment, and decision-making.

We’re grateful to UNITE for providing our students with this meaningful opportunity to learn, engage, and better understand the importance of making safe choices. ❤️

These products will be used to fill our grab-n-go wall next to the middle school office, for anyone in need. FRYSC - YSC Advisory Council Meetings 

🌟🔬 STAR Academy is officially in rotation! 🔬🌟 Mrs. Hopkins’ 7th-grade science students began their first STAR Academy module rotation, and there is a LOT of learning happening in one classroom! At any given time, students are working through 10 different areas of science and STEM. 🤯🧪⚙️ Students are currently exploring 🦠 Immunology, 🍎 Food Science, 💡 Lights & Lasers, 🌱 Eco Architecture, ⚙️ Simple Machines, 🔋 Energy, Power & Mechanics, 💥 Forces, 🔥 Heat & Energy, 🫀 Body Systems, and 🧴 Plastics & Polymers. Today, students suited up in lab coats, goggles, and other safety gear and got to work! 🥼🥽 From conducting investigations and using specialized equipment to building, testing, observing, and problem-solving, students are beginning to take real ownership of their learning. While they may tell you the computer portion of STAR Academy isn’t always their favorite 😂💻, the hands-on activities are definitely bringing science to life! These students did a wonderful job demonstrating that when they are given the opportunity and responsibility to take charge of their learning, they can rise to the challenge. ⭐👏 And this is only the beginning! Students will continue rotating through modules and building new skills and knowledge throughout the school year. 🚀🔬 📄 Parents and guardians: Parent Briefings for students’ current modules should have made their way home. Ask your 7th grader which module they are currently working on and what they’ve been learning! 🌟 10 modules 🧪 10 learning experiences happening at once 🧠 Students taking ownership of their learning 🚀 A whole year of hands-on science ahead! 💜🩵 Together in Love, Forever in Our Hearts — Jaleigh 🩵💜 This Thursday, we invite our students, staff, families, and community members who would like to participate to wear purple, teal, or lavender in honor of Jaleigh. This is a simple way for us to come together, remember a very special young lady, and surround her family, friends, classmates, and loved ones with support. 💜 If you don’t have purple, teal, or lavender, you are welcome to wear yellow, green, or white—colors that can represent hope, mental health awareness, remembrance, peace, and support. 💛💚🤍 Above all, we want every student to know: you matter, you are important, and you are loved. If you are struggling or simply need someone to talk to, please reach out to a trusted adult, counselor, teacher, friend, or someone you feel safe with.
